15 (When I Leave)- Edie Yvonne (Pop) Our favorite 15-year old artist, Edie Yvonne, has returned for the seventh time to our blog with latest track “15 (When I Leave)”, a song about getting ready to switch to a new high school. That teen angst is captured immediately by the guitar intro, leading us into a rock number dripping with attitude. There’s something that feels inspired by The Killers and Jimmy Eat World here (“The Middle” feels like a good comparison track), while delivering some early No Doubt girl power. We could definitely hear this track in the closing credits of a cult teen film—think like the end of Clueless or Legally Blonde. Not since JoJo has someone so young showed up with so much professional gloss. We look forward to Edie’s impending breakthrough.
Best Lyric: “Looking in mirrors and I see through myself.”
